'Parkwood Springs through the Ages' 1st February 6.30pm. For more see 'Friends Group'

New Friends Group for Parkwood Springs

A Friends of Parkwood Springs Group is being formed, to help to raise the profile of the Springs, encourage people to use it, and influence how it is improved. There will be opportunities to work on the site, to campaign, and to get to know more about the site, its wildlife and its history.

We are now deciding exactly what people want the Group to do, and how it should work.

You are very welcome to be involved in that. Watch here for further details, or contact us through the 'Contacts' button. We will be happy to add you to the mailing list.

Next meeting - 'Parkwood Springs through the Ages'

Monday February 1st  2010 at 6.30pm

At The Crescent, St. Catherine’s School, Firshill Crescent, Sheffield S4 7BX. (Buses 7 and 83 pass the door.)

Mel Jones, a well-known local historian and professor at Sheffield Hallam University, will give an interesting short talk with photos about the history of Parkwood Springs, and there will be time to ask him questions.

The meeting will also be about taking forward setting up and running the Group. There will be time for people to make suggestions for activities and talk about what the group want to achieve. We hope to finalise a small committee to run the Group.

We look forward  to seeing you at the meeting.
